Looking forward to a Christ-centered, God-honoring day, full of great discussions and workshops. Everyone will attend all talks, but please make note of the workshop you would like to attend for the registration process.
Talk #1: The Role of a Christian Woman: Strengthening our Walk with Christ
Is the busyness of our life leaving little room for the source of our life? With the many roles of motherhood, Satan can tempt us to become overwhelmed, discouraged, weary, and distracted as we struggle to balance and prioritize all the duties of which we are responsible. First and foremost, though, we are responsible for the state of our own hearts. Are we content with where Christ has placed us? Do we view motherhood as a gift and a God ordained means of sanctification? Do we strive to imitate Christ each day? As we love and serve our families, let’s be encouraged that Christ is our foundation from whom we draw our strength and energy each day and rejoice that His grace is abounding!
Speaker: Marcia Koch
Talk #2: The Role of a Wife: Encouraging and Respecting our Husband
How do we become the wife God intended us to be? Exhausted, tired, and unmotivated but still wanting to build a marriage that is God-honoring. Balancing the role of a supportive wife isn’t easy when 6, 7, or 8pm rolls around, God’s Word and fellow believers can give us encouragement and advice on how to love, date, pray, and make time for your husband in the busyness of life!
Speaker: Katie Miller
Talk #3: The Role of a Mother: Treasuring our Children
One of a mother’s most difficult tasks is raising our children to leave us, to transfer their source of life, comfort, & home to another. In all our loving & comforting, we are simply tasked with pointing them towards a better home, a lasting one. This is possible only with God’s help as He guides us through the many stages of raising children. From bouncing a fussy newborn at 2 am, to cleaning up the highchair for the 20th time, to comforting your child who didn’t make the basketball team, God gives us the grace to prioritize our children and find opportunities to bless them, to teach them, to discipline, and to love them.
Speakers: Gail Romersberger and daughter, Ashley Baner
Talk #4: The Role of a Christian Woman Outside of the Home: Christian Friendships, Church Responsibilities, and the Workplace
Our lives can seem consumed by the responsibilities God has given us at
home…caring for our husbands, our children, and our own hearts. And yet there are more
opportunities that He would have us engage in at times. There are ways that He would have
us to serve and use our gifts to encourage and strengthen our friends, our church, and the
workplace around us. And there is strength that can be gained from our Christian friends.
How do we balance these opportunities? How do we properly live out the roles He has called
us to…strengthening ourselves and those around us.
Speakers: Lori Wiegand and daughter Jennifer Stoller
Talk #5: Gospel Centered Marriage and Family
“This is a great mystery.” God’s Word shares that our marriage is to reflect Christ’s
mysterious and loving relationship with the church. Our relationship and family are to be a
demonstration of the Gospel to the outside world. But this witness begins at home, with
intentional priorities and investment in values that will outlast this life. It is born out of the
disciplined discipleship of our family as we bring them up in the love of the Lord. How do we
keep this focus in the midst of life? How do we live out the beauty of God’s grace and truth,
modeling the Gospel through our marriage and our family.
Speakers: Arlan and Katie Miller
